A communication plug can fit correctly and still connect the wrong signals. When ordering battery accessories, specify the supported equipment pair and cable pinout rather than asking only for an RJ45 cable.

Separate connector from signal
RJ45 describes a connector arrangement commonly used for several purposes. Battery communication ports may use CAN or RS485 with a model-specific pin assignment. A cable intended for a network switch should not be assumed suitable.
Avoid trial-and-error wiring
Request the manufacturer’s cable or a documented cable specification. The installer should verify the connection against both manuals. Randomly swapping conductors or attaching unknown ports can create faults and make diagnosis harder.
Include the cable in repeat orders
Store the cable drawing or part reference with the approved battery and inverter configuration. If either firmware or hardware changes, reconfirm that the same cable and profile remain correct. Label spare cables so they are not mixed with unrelated leads.
Details to confirm
- Port purpose at both ends
- Pin assignment and shield instructions
- Cable length requirement
- Part reference on the packing list
Can a longer cable be used?
Confirm the permitted length and routing with the equipment documentation. Connector fit alone does not establish signal reliability.
Product and project review
See the related Graspmart battery specifications and compare the available capacities. Use the reference data to shortlist a platform, then confirm the exact production model, accessories and operating limits in the quotation.
Send the inverter model, destination, quantity and the requirements listed above through the project enquiry form. Include existing equipment details when the battery is being added to an installed system.
